Many athletes will arrive at the start line of the Rohto Ironman 70.3 Hawaii on June 5, 2010, to compete for a qualifying slot to either the 2010 Ford Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, or the 2010 Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 in Clearwater, Florida.
For all of you racing with a qualifying slot in mind, we wish you the race of your dreams. Our Ironman volunteers, the Big Island community and our award-winning partners are already hard at work ensuring that you can spend race day focusing on nothing but your best performance.
2010 Slots Available
This year, the Rohto Ironman 70.3 Hawaii offers 72 qualifying age group slots for the 2010 Ford Ironman World Championship – 28 general age group slots, 20 age group slots specifically reserved for residents of Hawaii and 24 age group slots specifically reserved for residents of the Big Island.
It also offers 50 qualifying slots for the Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 in Clearwater, Florida – 48 age group slots and 2 professional slots.
Final slot allocation will be determined on race day based on the number of official starters. Qualifiers are required to claim their slot in person at the Slot Distribution tent in the post race area on race day from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m.

How to Compete for a Slot
2010 Ford Ironman World Championship
If you are attending the Rohto Ironman 70.3 Hawaii from anywhere in the world besides Hawaii, you will be eligible to qualify for one of the 28 general age group slots to the 2010 Ford Ironman World Championship just by competing in the race.
Athletes who are residents of Hawaii must apply to show they meet certain qualifications before being considered for the State or Big Island slots. If they don't meet the qualifications – including those who do not submit applications – they are treated just like every other athlete, which means they are still eligible to qualify for one of the 28 general age group slots.
Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3
All athletes, regardless of residency, are eligible to compete for a slot to Clearwater, Florida, for the Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3.
Familiarize Yourself with your Competition
Racers, as you take a look at your competition for 2010 Ford Ironman World Champion qualifying slots, do not immediately include an athlete in the Hawaii or Big Island resident categories based solely on the city and state information provided in our Participant List.

Roll on "Information" then "Qualify" then click on "Kona and Clearwater Slots" to access the lists. Make sure you check these lists to know who you may be competing against on June 5, 2010.
